Audit Manager - Wellington (New Zealand)

ProGlobal Consulting is working in conjunction with a top firm in recruiting for a pivotal role within the Assurance group.  As Audit Manager you will be tasked with managing a high profile portfolio of clients, including managing their financial audits, the long term client relationship, and coaching and mentoring of junior staff within the wider Financial Assurance practice.  Additionally you will have opportunity to leverage your fantastic client management skills to assist with business development of the wider practice.

Specific day to day responsibilities will include:

  • External audit and statutory reporting for large proprietary and listed organizations;
  • Preparation and review of financial statements;
  • Analysis and documentation of internal controls and control environments;
  • Managing all aspects of audit and statutory reporting for your client portfolio;
  • Researching and advice to clients on issues faced in relation to reporting;
  • Day to day management of clients;
  • Managing and supervising junior staff;
  • Involvement in training junior staff on audit related matters;

Our client requires an experienced and enthusiastic Manager who is keen to add value with ongoing insight and input.  The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:
 
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a Manager position;
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications as well as CA qualification (or equivalent);
  • Solid technical knowledge and understanding of accounting standards;
  • Experience with auditing a wide variety of industries, in particular servicesservices, transport, distribution, utilities, energy and minerals, telecommunicationstechnology;
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain excellent client relations;
  • Proven ability to demonstrate an understanding on commercial issues facing business;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong time management skills and well developed research and problem solving skills;
  • A ‘can do’ attitude whose enthusiasm and energy is welcomed as part of the team;
  • High professional standards, proven through consistent excellent performance in previous roles;
  • Experience in supervising staff and an evidenced ability to manage others;
  • An ability to identify potential further worksales or value add opportunities;
  • Exposure to or training in overseas accounting regimes such as US, and UKGAAP or/and IFRS would be highly regarded;
