ProGlobal is working in conjunction with one of the largest Accountancy firms. The Insurance Group provides audit and business advisory services to non-life, life, reinsurance and broker companies, both domestically and internationally. As a Manager in the Insurance market group, you will be responsible for a portfolio of audit clients, and will report directly to the audit partner or senior manager of each engagement. You will oversee every aspect of a client engagement, from planning to execution to completion and in this respect be responsible for reviewing and monitoring the work of more junior staff on the engagement.
Responsibilities will include:
- Analysing research to ensure thorough understanding of each client's industry and business as well as the Insurance industry and regulatory environment;
- Meeting with the client to identify expectations, issues and challenges;
- Negotiating fees directly with the client under the direction of a partner;
- Establishing the audit approach to the engagement, making effective use of team members' skills and managing the assignment within time and budgetary requirements.
- Demonstrating strong technical knowledge and having the ability to research issues, present alternatives and conclusions;
- Monitoring the progress of the team members towards completion of work and adjusting the work plan when necessary;
- Reviewing work of the team to ensure that all work is completed and documented in accordance with our prescribed standards;
- Managing interpersonal relations and inspiring team members;
- Continuously communicating with the Partner with respect to engagement progress – risks, issues, variances from plan in terms of time and budget;
- Preparing complete financial statements, related notes, and reports for delivery to the client
- Taking full ownership of electronic audit file and external file completion;
- Analysing engagement economics of self and field staff and explaining variances from plan;
- Approving final billing for review by the Partner;
- Preparing and delivering meaningful individual performance evaluations on a timely basis;
- Developing strong relationships with clients to facilitate the completion of client work;
- Identifying potential opportunities to provide additional services to clients.
- Assuming a coaching performance management role.
- Networking in the local business community;
- Participating in recruitment activities at graduate level
Required criteria:
- Degree plus ACA/ACCA designation or equivalent foreign designation;
- Detailed understanding of Irish GAAP and GAAS.
- Proven leadership, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Commitment to providing excellent client service;
- Ability to work on multiple engagements concurrently.
- Specific insurance/financial services industry experience plus knowledge of US GAAP/ SEC and International Financial Reporting Standards would be considered an asset.
